ELUTION COLUMNS Among the major stainless steel products that STEGEL™ is provisioned to manufacture are elution columns, which are used for gold recovery. The use of elution columns in gold recovery is a cost-effective method of recovering gold from the sediment in mine dumps and other areas in which gold particles reside. We have successfully design, manufacture and supply elution columns for the gold mining industry throughout South Affrica & Africa. Our elution columns and acid wash columns are built for the metals recovery industry, as these assist in the recovery of base metals, gold, uranium, rare earth elements, scandium and other metals. When requested, we create pressure vessels which are designed and manufactured from duplex stainless steel, such as SAF 2507/2205 and Hastelloy C276/C4, which fall under the list of materials we are able to use with expert level proficiency. The elution process is enabled within these columns by the use of filter screens which are fitted for filtration – replacement filter screens are also available through STEGEL™ Engineering.
